Alaina Enslen is a photographer and mixed media artist working in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York. Alaina grew up traveling the world with her family and living in such diverse countries as Japan, Saudi Arabia and England. Experiencing cultures, identities, and beliefs have always fascinated her. After graduating in 2000 with a BFA in painting from the University of Montevallo in Alabama she continues to explore the stories that shape who we are and how our identities evolve in relation to our cultures and beliefs. Her work consists of materials collected from her subjects, memorabilia, and objects from the environment. Continuing her travels, she just spent an adventurous year with her four kids in Portugal, where she collaborated in two international exhibitions with her husband, a professor of Brazilian Literature.
