WAX & BLOOM: EXPLORING BOTANICALS IN ENCAUSTIC (JULY 11 TH, 6-7 PM, JULY 12TH 10AM-11AM ES)

JOIN ME LIVE ON ZOOM. (The sessions will be recorded and available a week after live classes).

Discover the magic of combining botanicals with encaustic techniques in this immersive, hands- on workshop. In Wax and Blooms, you’ll learn to create cyanotypes and fuse botanical prints with encaustic wax, transforming natural elements into stunning works of art. Explore how to incorporate dried flowers and foliage into wax layers to add depth and texture, and design floral collages that combine ink, deco foil, papers, image transfers, and other mixed-media techniques. The workshop also includes making encaustic relief prints from foliage foraged around Woodstock, adding a uniquely local touch to your creations. Additionally, there will be a presentation showcasing how contemporary encaustic artists are incorporating botanicals and related techniques into their work, offering inspiration and insight into this versatile medium. Whether you’re new to encaustics or looking to deepen your practice, this experience will inspire experimentation and creativity.
